About the Job:

• We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic Retail Manager to lead our pack!

• This full-time position runs from Tuesday to Saturday. Shifts will be based on business needs, but the store is generally open 9 AM to 7 PM.

• As a Retail Manager, you will oversee the operations of our store and ensure that our two-legged and four-legged customers have an unforgettable experience.

• Whether providing high-quality pet nutrition advice or suggesting a new harness, collar, or leash, every day offers something new and rewarding.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all aspects of store operations, including staffing, training, and development of employees.

• Oversee inventory management, including purchasing, stocking, and inventory control, to ensure optimal product availability.

• Implement effective merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and drive sales.

• Manage payroll processes and maintain accurate bookkeeping records.

• Conduct employee orientation, training sessions, and performance evaluations to foster a productive work environment.

• Utilize retail math skills for budgeting, pricing strategies, and sales management.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of customer service.

• Handle cash management duties, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities.

• Develop marketing initiatives to promote store offerings and enhance customer engagement.

• Supervise daily operations, including shift management, to ensure smooth functioning of the store.

Ideal Candidate:

• Our ideal candidate has a nose for retail and a heart for pets!

• Previous experience in pet retail is a plus, but not critical.

• We cherish a good understanding of retail settings, teamwork, and a passion for animals.

• If you’re comfortable with Slack and learning our POS systems, you’ll fit right in.

• We’re looking for a manager adept at merchandising, staff management, and building lasting relationships with customers (both furry and human!).

• Your adventures here will include creating meaningful community connections and enthusiastically navigating the vibrant pet landscape.

What We Offer:

• Annual salary of $48,000 to $53,000 (based on experience).
