Gearhart Bookkeeping is a specialized firm proudly serving the pet industry. We support dog trainers, groomers, daycares, dog walkers, and veterinary practices with comprehensive financial solutions beyond basic bookkeeping. We empower our clients to manage finances effectively, ensuring steady cash flow and confident growth, while they focus on their passion for pets.

Job Summary:

  • We’re seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team.

  • This remote, part-time position has the potential to transition to full-time.

  • Our ideal candidate excels at maintaining precise financial records, performing account reconciliations, and following structured workflows to support pet-focused businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all bookkeeping for a variety of pet industry clients.

  • Quickly and accurately record financial transactions in QuickBooks Online.

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.

  • Reconcile bank accounts and perform asset and liability account analysis.

  • Ensure timely, accurate financial statement preparation.

  • Handle payroll processing and prepare payroll tax returns.

  • Assist in budget preparation and internal audits.

  • Maintain organized financial record filing systems.

  • Collaborate in creating and analyzing financial reports.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Bookkeeper experience with QuickBooks Online.

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.

  • Experience with class tracking is advantageous.

  • We would prefer a staff member who can work from 8am to 4pm (AZ time).

Skills:

  • Excellent organization and prioritization abilities.

  • High accuracy and confidentiality level.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant accounting software.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation:

  • Starting at $15-$20 per hour.

  • Monthly earnings will range from $600 to $1200 when starting.

  • Start at 10–15 hours per week with growth potential as the firm expands.
