We are passionate about enhancing the bond between dogs and their owners and are looking for a dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team and help us make a difference in our community.
Position Overview:
As a Dog Trainer at Playtime Pups Retreat, you will play a vital role in shaping the behaviors and social skills of our canine clients. Your expertise will guide dogs through basic obedience, manners, and advanced training, tailored to meet individual needs. The ideal candidate will have a love for dogs, strong communication skills, and experience with positive reinforcement methods. This position offers a dynamic work environment, opportunities for growth, and the chance to build lasting relationships with dogs and their owners.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct training sessions for puppies and adult dogs, focusing on obedience, manners, and problem-solving.
Develop customized training plans based on dog temperament, age, and owner goals.
Demonstrate training techniques to owners to ensure consistency at home.
Monitor and document progress of each dog, providing regular updates to owners.
Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging training environment.
Stay current with latest training methods and best practices in positive reinforcement.
Collaborate with team members to ensure a holistic approach to dog care and training.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a dog trainer or related role.
Knowledge of positive reinforcement training techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with animals.
Certifications such as CPDT-KA, KPA CTP, or similar are a plus but not required.
